Ancient, huge olive trees and the wide open cobalt-blue sea shape the landscape around medieval Pisciotta.
Right at the steep coast, in an olive grove, which slopes towards the sea, and not too far from Marina di Pisciotta, lies the hamlet of Acqua Bianca with its handful of houses.
In 2004, Casa Menaica was built in this green idyll, on the edge of an olive grove.
Due to the slightly inclining location, you have got a beautiful view of the sea and of the Cilento coast and its guardians, Saracen towers.
The bright, airy house blends perfectly into the silvery-green landscape of olive trees.
The ground floor of Casa Menaica includes the large, ca. 35 m² living room with kitchen area and a small bathroom with shower/WC/bidet. The living area opens onto the roofed terrace with its distinctive round arches.
The property, lush with olive trees and Mediterranean macchia, is partly bordered by small rubblework walls.
On the first floor you find two bedrooms (double bed and two single beds) and a bathroom with shower/WC/bidet.
Both of the bedrooms open onto the large balcony, which runs the width of the house and offers an impressive view of the sea.
Additional features: washing machine, SAT-TV.
The name of the house is derived from the menaica, the traditional method of anchovy fishing practised by Pisciotta’s fishermen. At night, from the balcony, you can often see the illuminated fishing boats lying offshore, waiting for the shoals of anchovies.
You may park your car directly at the house.
The lovely beach of Marina di Pisciotta is about 800 m from your holiday home and can be reached by following a narrow footpath. Below the steep coast, only about 100 m from Casa Menaica, there is, depending on the sea state, a narrow bathing spot which is accessible via a stepped path. Please note that due to weather conditions this path might not be open.
The center of Marina di Pisciotta with grocery store, bar and restaurants is ca. 1.5 km off.
Marina di Pisciotta is also an ideal starting point for hiking tours in the Cilento. Tip: a walk from Marina di Pisciotta to Pisciotta, either along a 1 km foot path or along the road (3 km).
This medieval village, perched high above the sea, its centro storico criss-crossed by small alleys, awaits your visit.
Pass relaxing days in the Cilento and experience a perfect holiday combining Italian „dolce vita“, bathing at magnificent beaches and hiking through the picturesque green landscape with a steady view of the open sea.
Nearest train station: Pisciotta-Palinuro (ca. 4 km).
