Pisciotta counts among the most authentic villages on the Cilento coast: non-touristy, authentic, cheerful and very Italian. Only 1 km from the sea and surrounded by rambling olive groves, the small village nestles on top of a green hill.
From the large terrace of lovely attic apartment Terrazza sul Blu, you have got a marvelous view of medieval Pisciotta, the marina and the deep blue sea at your feet. The apartment is located just outside the village limits and it takes you ca. 10 minutes to walk to the center.
Terrazza sul Blu is a comfortable Cilento holiday accommodation for a couple or a family of three. When you enter the 40 m² apartment, you find yourself in the living-dining room which is furnished with a fireplace, a sofa bed, TV as well as a dining table and four chairs.
The kitchen area with stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment is small, but even the washing machine has found its nook there. The living-dining room opens onto the ca. 40 m² sea view terrace, which is furnished with a table and chairs, a parasol and sunbeds.
The bedroom with double bed and extra bed is next to the living-dining room. Sea view goes for this room, too; it opens onto the large terrace. In the morning, you open your eyes to the gorgeous panorama of the Pisciotta coastline.
The apartment’s bathroom is equipped with shower cabin, WC and bidet.
All the rooms have got heating and fly screens. The fireplace in the living area provides for a cozy atmosphere, above all on cool spring evenings. In summer, the fan might be quite welcome.
There is a parking space right in front of the holiday apartment. The other house on the fenced premises is the owners’ residence.
Shopping facilities in Pisciotta, restaurants and the bars in Piazza Pinto are within walking distance of Terrazza sul Blu. Across from supermarket Conad on the main road, there is a Cilentan specialties store (TIPICO – Le Eccellenze del Cilento), opened in 2016 by the owner of the holiday apartment and its large offer of Cilentan prodotti tipici ranging from wine and olive oil to cheese and salumi.
From the village center, there is a foot path (ca. 1 km) down to Marina di Pisciotta, where smaller and larger sandy and pebble bays to both sides of the small harbor invite you to spend days at the beach or take long walks.
At the harbor, colorful wooden boats catch your eye, the boats of those fishermen who keep to the traditional method of catching anchovies, the so-called Alici di Menaica, with special nets. The enterprise of Donatella Marino, where the anchovies are processed and sold, is located directly at the harbor promenade. Behind the harbor, brothers Cammarano run a pescheria, where fresh fish is sold every day.
