In the car free terraced alleys of Pisciotta's "centro storico" (Cilento, Southern Italy), a local family has, with commitment and love, thoroughly renovated its holiday apartment at Palazzo Pagano, which dates from the Middle Ages.
It was then decided to name elegant and comfortable Casa Leopoldo after the father of the family.
The result of the works of renovation is impressive: The holiday apartment laid out for four persons provides a generous 110 m² of living space, a roof terrace offers sea view at its best, stylish furnishing and two bathrooms provide comfort.
Your Pisciotta holiday apartment is on the third floor of the medieval palazzo. Except for the double bedroom, which you have to climb three steps to, the rooms of the apartment are on one level.
Upon entering Casa Leopoldo, you find yourself in the 45 m² living room with cozy couch suite and Sat-TV (with English channels). The apartment offers WiFi access.
The living room as well as the eat-in kitchen offer access of the apartment’s roof terrace with its wonderful view of the sea and of Marina di Pisciotta’s small harbor. Enjoy your breakfast up there and in the evening review the day’s events while savoring a glass of red wine and delighting in the vivid colors of the setting sun.
The eat-in kitchen of Casa Leopoldo is equipped with a modern built-in kitchen, which includes gas stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment, and solid wooden furniture.
The ca. 25 m² double room is spacious and has en suite bathroom with shower cabin, bidet and WC. The bedroom window looks out onto the sea, which impressive Cape Palinuro juts out into. There is a children’s bed in this room.
The second bedroom, next to the double, is a twin. Its French balcony opens upon a view of Capo Palinuro, too.
The second bathroom with shower cabin, bidet, WC and washing machine is accessible from the living room.
The holiday apartment includes WIFI and air conditioning with heating function, which makes Casa Leopoldo suitable for a stay in winter, too.
Bathing holidays: To reach the beach of Marina di Pisciotta, you can choose either a footpath (1 km) or the road (3 km). The beautiful beach has either more sandy or more pebbly sections, depending on the current.
Atmosphere: In the small alleys of Pisciotta with its piazze, stepped paths, inner courtyards, palazzi and houses dating from the 16th century, you still experience, more than anywhere else in the Cilento, the unique atmosphere of real Italian village life.
Short distances: The main piazza of Pisciotta is within short walking distance of your holiday apartment. There are small grocery stores and shops selling prodotti tipici of the Cilento. Café-bars invite you inside to try typical specialities or simply savor the moment. A cash dispenser and the post office are not far off either.
Mangiare: Only about 150 m from Casa Leopoldo lies Ristorante-Pizzeria "Tre Gufi" ("Three Tawny Owls"). There, at the foot of grand palazzo Marchesale, you are seated on a wonderful terrace with view of the sea. With guests and locals, Tre Gufi is also popular for an aperitivo before dinner.
Parking: Public parking is found round Pisciotta's "centro storico". The one closest to Casa Leopoldo is below Palazzo Pagano, about 100 m off.
Nearest train station: Pisciotta-Palinuro (ca. 4 km).
