Casa Giovanna - Holiday apartment at Pisciotta

It is the irresistible charm of the South you meet with in the mountain village of Pisciotta. People meet in the piazza, at the bar or at Mario’s. You see men playing cards and watching out for what is going on along the road. You see children turning the village square into a football field for a while and in the narrow alleys laundered bed linen flapping in the wind above the heads of the visitors from far and near. In other words: At Pisciotta, things are the way they have always been. 

In the winding alleys of contemplative Pisciotta lies Casa Giovanna. The renovated period apartment with its beautiful sea view terrace is perfect for 3 persons and invites to stay for at least two weeks.  

Being a guest at Giovanna‘s

First off: At Giovanna’s you will feel completely at ease. Your hostess is one of the most warmhearted and friendliest persons you will meet at Pisciotta. 

Giovanna’s holiday apartment includes two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living-dining room and a bathroom. Each bedroom (one with double bed and air conditioning, one with single bed) is furnished with a writing table. The windows of the apartment are furnished with fly screens.

Furnishing of the living-dining room includes dining furniture, 2seater sofa and Sat-TV (with English channels). In the hallway there is another air conditioning unit. At Casa Giovanna, central heating is available for a fee and WLAN is available free of charge.

The separate solid wooden kitchen is well appointed and includes gas stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment.

The bathroom is equipped with, amongst others, a corner bathtub. 

A laundry room with a sink for your hand wash as well as a washing machine is accessible from the terrace.

Casa Giovanna has got a separate entrance, which gives you the feeling of living in a small house.

Inviting atmosphere

With a lot of flowering plants and a lot of love the owner has created a cozy atmosphere for untroubled holidays in this still largely unknown part of Southern Italy. While taking it easy on the sheltered roof terrace, enjoy the view of the sea and of the many olive groves surrounding Pisciotta. 

Should you be in the mood for some more action, then join the early evening hustle and bustle in Piazza Pinto. There, out in the open, you find people gesticulating and discussing the latest political headlines. Of course, there is also a bit of village gossip in between. After an aperitivo at Mario’s bar, the square empties, because it is time for dinner, which is traditionally shared with one’s family at home or at the weekends at the restaurant.  

Surroundings of Casa Giovanna 

It is a ca. 1 km walk along a footpath or a few minutes by car to the beach of Marina di Pisciotta. A beautiful beach we can also strongly recommend is found near Caprioli (Saline beach) and easy to reach by car.

Parking is available just outside the village center, about 200 m from the holiday apartment.

Piazza Raffaele Pinto with stores and café-bars is about 150 m, Ristorante-Pizzeria „Tre Gufi“ only about 100 m from Casa Giovanna. 

Nearest train station: Pisciotta-Palinuro (ca. 4 km).
