It was built at the end of the 19th century on the green hills between Agropoli and Paestum, in charming panoramic location – country house Casale Torone.
Roberto Pisani has restored the quarry stone buildings, both the main house and the guest house (Villino Torone), with great care. It is not without reason that he goes into rhapsodies about the romantic sunsets, when the sun disappears into the sea behind the gently rolling hills in dazzling colors.
The sandy beach of Agropoli is 5 km off and reached by car within a few minutes. The world-famous Greek temples of Paestum are about 10 km off.
Your holiday apartment on the first floor of the two-story main building has a separate exterior entrance.
The apartment’s interior is characterized by beautiful solid wooden furniture, which underlines the pleasant, rural atmosphere. Walls half a meter strong provide for comfortable temperatures even in summer.
The spacious apartment includes an eat-in kitchen with fireside, a living room with French balcony, a double bedroom with spare bed and a single bedroom with queen-size bed as well as two bathrooms.
The large bathroom with bathtub/WC/bidet is an en-suite of the double room, but also accessible from the hallway. The small bathroom with shower/WC/bidet is accessible from the living room.
The double room and the balcony open upon a fantastic panorama with sea view. From the apartment’s large stone terrace you have got a view of the sea which is just as marvelous. On clear days your gaze roams across the Gulf of Salerno to the Amalfi Coast and as far as the Isle of Capri.
The apartment also features a TV. A washing machine for shared use is found on the ground floor of the Casale.
The 8,000 m² property is home to a large variety of plants and the ideal retreat for lovers of nature. The countless, often gnarly olive trees provide for a unique Mediterranean atmosphere.
Parking is available on the premises. The nearest grocery stores are found 1.5 km off, in the small mountain village of Ogliastro Cilento, the comune Casale Torone belongs to.
Those who value healthy and regionally produced food are in the right place here.
The owner, Roberto Pisani cultivates fruit and vegetables without using pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
Furthermore, he bakes naturally-leavened sourdough bread and offers home-made jam and home-produced organic oil as well as wine. All these delicacies can be tasted and of course bought on site.
Signor Pisani will gladly set up contact for you with the local shepherd, who offers home-made sheep’s milk cheese for sale.
The owner of Casale Torone speaks English.
