La Piccola Rupestre can rightly be called the little sister of Villa Nicoletta. The lovely holiday apartment on Monte di Luna at Marina di Camerota came into being, so to speak, when the Gelardi siblings decided to redo the former granny apartment at their parents’ house, where they used to spend their summer vacation. At the beginning of 2020, the rooms were renovated and furnished with, amongst others, a new kitchen, new bathrooms and new windows with fly screens.
The spacious premises the two houses are located on are home to countless old olive trees and offer an appealing panoramic view of the sea and the coast. To get to Lentiscelle beach you need only follow a foot path for ca. 900 m. Monte di Luna is also a perfect starting point for hiking tours in maritime wildlife park Infreschi. A hiking trail runs along the ridge of the unique steep coast to Baia Infreschi. In between, several idyllic sandy beach bays wait to be discovered.
La Piccola Rupestre is found on the basement floor of family Gelardi's parental home and has got a separate entrance. The owners wanted and want to make sure you have got the privacy you expect when spending your holidays there. With its two bedrooms and two bathrooms it is a comfortable accommodation for four persons.
The works of renovation included adding ca. 80 m² of terrace to La Piccola Rupestre, which cover two levels, are of course laid out towards the sea and furnished with a table, chairs, sunbeds, a parasol and an outdoor shower. You might easily decide to simply spend and enjoy one or the other day of your vacation on your „home“ terrace – no stress, hectic pace or plans for excursions.
You enter La Piccola Rupestre into the small live-and-eat-in kitchen with kitchenette, dining furniture and small sofa. Furnishing of the kitchen includes, amongst others, gas stove, oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment, water boiler and toaster.
From the hallway with built-in closet you enter the two bedrooms. One is furnished with a double bed, the other one with twin beds; they both offer direct access of the apartment's outdoor area.
Piccola Rupestre's two bathrooms are equipped with shower cabin, WC, bidet and hair dryer each. Fly screens, gas heating, WLAN and ceiling fans are further conveniences found at the holiday apartment. The washing machine at your disposal is for shared use.
In front of the house, on the completely fenced premises, a parking space is reserved for the guests staying at the holiday apartment. There is a room in the house where you can play table tennis or table football, should you be in the mood to do so.
On the floor above La Piccola Ruprestre lies the apartment of family Gelardi. They are very discreet and use the apartment only in midsummer and every now and then at the weekends.
Quite often families who are friends or several generations of one family would like to spend their holidays together. Should this be the case, renting both Piccola Rupestre and Villa Nicoletta might the ideal solution, which offers accommodation for altogether eight persons with enough space and sufficient privacy for everyone.
Marina di Camerota is a place we like to recommend to those who spend their holidays in the Cilento for the first time or who love to go hiking a lot. The latter, in particular, are sure to find the town's location between Capo Palinuro and maritime wildlife park Infreschi very convenient and attractive.
In August, Marina di Camerota is very popular with Italian families spending their bathing and beach holidays there. Quite a number of beaches, of various kinds and forms, are found in and around the town. Apart from Lentiscelle and Calanca beaches close to town, the bathing bays of the maritime wildlife park, which are accessible only by boat, are very appealing. The bays Capogrosso, Porticello and Cala d'Arconte as well as long Mingardo beach are found when heading towards Palinuro.
In the original center of the former fishing village and year-round you are sure to find whatever you need during your holidays there. Several supermarkets, bars, ice cream parlors, bakeries and butcheries, a weekly market, fish offered for sale right at the harbor, restaurants setting great store by and serving the area's multi-faceted cuisine – it's all about 1.2 km from La Piccola Ruprestre. Bar, stores and restaurants in particular are found centered around the harbor and the lungomare as well as between Piazza San Domenico and Via Bolivar.
