Should you be arriving by car, you can park in a reserved parking space in one of the side roads (ca. 150 m off) or in one of the chargeable, public parking spaces right in front of the house.
During your stay at Casa Riccio you do not necessarily need a car. Restaurants and shopping facilities are found right in town, beaches are within walking distance and best reached on foot anyway. You can walk along a footpath by the seaside to the larger, neighboring town of Santa Maria di Castellabate. At Santa Maria you can rent bikes or cars by the day (at Antares ’91).
Although San Marco is rather small and therefore easy to grasp and manage, it offers whatever you need during your holidays. To start with, the local bathing bays are only 50 m off. Long beach sections are found at neighboring Santa Maria di Castellabate; they stretch out as far as the district of Lago, which ends at Punta Tresina. South of San Marco lies Punta Licosa. The coast of the marine protected area is dominated by impressive Aleppo pines. Punta Licosa is popular with cyclists and hikers.
Should you want to eat out, you are spoilt for choice. Almost in front of your door lies restaurant "Quasi in Porto", which is in general also open at lunchtime. Following the road uphill takes you straight to the church and the lively piazza, where you find restaurants "Su!" (only open during season) and "K" (open year-round). On the steps of Bar Gabbiano just around the corner you can treat yourself to a typical Italian breakfast of filled cornetto and creamy cappuccino or an evening 'aperitivo with style', a view of the harbor included.
Regularly scheduled busses run to the UNESCO World Heritage listed mountain village of Castellabate. Take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque, terraced alleys, then stop and linger for a while at the belvedere to enjoy the view. Should you want to get a 'taste' of Castellabate beforehand, you might consider watching the movie "Benvenuti al Sud" (Welcome to the South), which is set at Castellabate.
