„Buongiorno, just look at that splendid vista of Baia di Trentova!“ are the words Signora Antonietta welcomes us with in her realm. And, indeed, our eyes meet with a landscape of green rolling hills which gradually end at one of the northern Cilento’s most beautiful bathing bays.
The small residence at Agropoli with its six lovingly designed apartments and colorful outdoor area is located on a rise which lies somewhat apart between the historic town of Agropoli and the wide sandy beach of the said bathing bay. Within a radius of only about 1 km, you can enjoy both cultural highlights and the fascinating landscape of the Cilento National Park.
From among Antonietta’s individually designed apartments, it was holiday apartment „Stella“ on the upper floor which really caught our eye. We finally decided to choose it exclusively for your holidays.
Upon entering the apartment you find yourself in the combined living-dining room with kitchenette. Furthermore, there is a bathroom (shower, WC, bidet) as well as a bedroom with access of the roofed balcony, which is screened from view. Start off your day with breakfast on the balcony and with the breathtaking, far reaching view of the bay of Trentova.
The bedroom, which appears bright and sunny, offers a double bed as well as a bunk bed suitable for children.
The kitchenette, its blue bringing to mind the nearby sea, is equipped with 4-burner gas stove, small oven, refrigerator with freezer compartment as well as all kinds of kitchen utensils you need every day. The combined living-dining room includes a dining table and four chairs as well as a small sofa, which you may well have a short siesta on.
Furnishing:
Casa Rizzo offers not only amenities like SAT-TV and internet (WLAN), but also an outdoor shower and a washing machine for shared use as well as air conditioning with heating system. Furthermore, a children’s cot for very young guests can be provided upon request.
Outdoor area:
Cozy and colorful – that is what the outdoor area of Casa Rizzo is like. The large inner courtyard is not only a parking area, but a real eye-catcher with its colorfully tiled arches and the artfully grown Mediterranean plants. At dusk, with the arches subtly illuminated, the atmosphere is close to magic.
Above the inner courtyard, Antonietta, the owner, has arranged a sun terrace for apartment Stella as well as the two neighboring holiday apartments. If you love the Italian sun, relax on the sunbeds and chairs whenever you want, recharge your batteries and escape everyday life for a while.
Parking:
There is enough space to park your car on the fenced premises of Casa Rizzo.
Surroundings:
Baia di Trentova, displaying its wide charming panorama before your eyes, is about 1 km from Casa Rizzo. If you don’t mind the ascent and descent, you can even walk to the light, fine sandy beach with its characteristic rock. Legend has it that once upon a time 30 gulls’ eggs – trenta uova – were found beneath this rock, hence the name of the bay.
Taking the other direction from Casa Rizzo you arrive, after ca. 1.5 km, at the picturesque harbor and lovely, well-preserved Old Town of Agropoli. There are innumerable restaurants and bars, museums, churches and hidden chapels, but the town’s landmark also sits enthroned here – Castello Aragonese. During the summer months, the good maritime connections at the Amalfi coast are another advantage of this location.
You can do your daily shopping at Agropoli as well as at a supermarket which is located out of town and easy to reach by car.
Our nature tip:
Not far from Casa Rizzo, there is a hiking trail which runs to Punta Tresino and further on to Santa Maria di Castellabate. To both sides of the small headland you meet with a panorama you will hardly forget. To north, you look upon Agropoli and the Gulf of Salerno. To the south, you see Punta Licosa – another worthwhile hiking destination in this area.
Our culture tip:
Castello Aragonese is not only an impressive relic of Agropoli’s eventful past, but also a unique venue. All summer long, open-air concerts, dance and theater performances as well as themed markets take place here.
Nearest train station: Agropoli-Castellabate (ca. 4 km)
