Villages in the Cilento: holiday homes and apartments

The choice is yours: In the Cilento, idyllic fishing villages, untouched nature and fantastic sandy beaches are waiting to welcome you. Here is our survey of the most beautiful villages in the Cilento. We have to admit that setting a limit to the number of places was not easy.

The Cilento – a fantastic region at the seaside for all those seeking peace and quiet and for lovers of nature

You are looking for the real, authentic Italy, but you do not want to go without bathing holidays at fine, wide sandy beaches – then the Cilento is the right place for you. And those who love culture get their money’s worth, too. Here is a survey of our favorite places.

Acciaroli, widely known since Hemingway’s visit in 1953, is a picturesque fishing village with excellent possibilities for bathing and swimming.

Agropoli – Visit the medieval center of this village on a rock high above the sea or stay and spend your holidays in our holiday apartments in the beautiful centro storico of Agropoli.

Casalvelino in the heart of the Cilento includes the main village of the same name and the bathing resort of Marina di Casalvelino with its gently sloping sandy beach, which is ideal for families. Enjoy building sand castles at the beach!

Castellabate has been made very widely known by a movie shot there – "Benvenuti al Sud", in English: "Welcome to the South". Fantastic sandy beaches line the coast near the medieval village, which includes the bathing resorts of Santa Maria and San Marco di Castellabate.

Maratea – although actually a comune of the Basilicata region, we regard this beautiful corner of the world as a part of the Cilento and invite you to spend fantastic holidays at our holiday homes and apartments in the south of Italy.

Marina di Ascea and Terradura fascinate you with 7 km of sandy beach and the excavations of the former Greek town of Elea.

At Marina di Camerota with its picturesque fishing harbor, fantastic sandy beaches and bathing bays it is the sea that marks local life. There is a lot you can undertake on the water, but you can also go on wonderful hiking tours on land.

Marina di Pisciotta is a tranquil fishing village. The pace of life here is still a bit slower and easier. Follow the tranquil pace of the locals and enjoy beautiful days at the seaside at our holiday accommodations.

At Montecorice you are far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Spend wonderfully relaxing holidays at our holiday homes, surrounded by untouched nature.

Paestum – the gate to the Cilento boasts majestic Greek temples and need not shun comparison with significant excavation sites in Greece.

At Palinuro you find the Cilento’s landmark jutting out into the sea – Capo Palinuro. We warmly recommend surrounding the cape by boat or hiking to the lighthouse.

Pioppi and the dietician Ancel Keys are more often than not mentioned in the same breath. During his research and studies concerning the "Mediterranean Diet" he spent quite some time of his life at the idyllic seaside village.

Pisciotta is picturesquely situated on a hilltop above the sea. In its medieval centro storico, tranquility and 'celebrating' one’s cup of coffee are still very much treasured. Here, as in many other Cilento villages and towns, time seems to have stood still. During your holidays at our Pisciotta holiday apartments and homes you experience Southern Italian attitude towards life at close range.

Scario – Small yet lovely – that is the way you might describe this gem in the southern Cilento. At the small "negozi" along the well-tended seaside promenade you can buy lovely holiday souvenirs. Our charming sea view holiday homes are located in the "Zona Marcaneto", a well kept residential area.

Villammare with its lovely lungomare and long sandy beach marks the southern boundary of the Cilento. From Villammare you have also got a simply breathtaking view of Calabria’s coastal landscape further to the south.
