We have found it – the holiday paradise in the Cilento. It lies on the periphery of Marina di Pisciotta, hidden behind reed, palm and banana trees and right by the sparkling turquoise sea – the small quarry stone house Casa Mare.
To the left you see the Cape of Palinuro jutting out into the sea in all its splendor. On your very short way, only a few steps, from the sea view terrace down to the water and the narrow stone beach you pass by an old olive tree spreading its branches over a table for 2. It is simply the ideal place to enjoy romantic sunsets at the seaside. May your holidays not be far off!
Casa Mare is the perfect holiday accommodation for two. The lovely holiday home is laid out as follows: there is a small kitchen area, which includes, amongst others, a gas stove, a refrigerator with freezer compartment as well as a table and 2 chairs, a small bathroom with shower, WC and bidet as well as a bedroom with double bed, armchair, TV, wardrobe, dresser and fly screens.
From the two bedroom windows and from the kitchen you have got a view of the sea. The very appealing sea view terrace, which is shaded by a bamboo-covered pergola and furnished with a dining table and chairs, runs the width of the house.
The outdoor area, which is partly an old olive grove, offers more spots where you can feel at ease, sunbath and relax. The idyllic spot under a vine-covered pergola might be just right for sunbathing, because there is an outdoor shower if you need to cool off in between. Another small terrace with a table and two chairs and protected by an old olive tree seems to be floating above the sea. There is a barbecue available, too.
Parking for one car is available about 20 m above Casa Mare.
If you want to go for a swim, you can do so in the crystal clear, gently sloping sea below the house. Of course, you can also go the nearby sandy beach of Marina di Pisciotta, which is within a walking distance of only ca. 600 m along a hardly frequented road.
Small shopping can be done at the "Alimentare" at the lungomare of Marina di Pisciotta; it is open year-round and only ca. 400 m from the house. Bigger shopping could be done at the supermarkets of Pisciotta (Conad) and Palinuro (Supermercato Deco).
In the morning, you might stop for a cup of good coffee, a creamy cappuccino and fresh cornetti at one of the several bars along the lungomare, the road running parallel to the sea.
In the mood to sit in the sun by the sea and savor a cool Aperol Spritz? Then stop by the bar of Hotel Riviera, which is run by the friendly owner of Casa Mare. As the hotel restaurant is open not only to hotel guests, you can have lunch and dinner there, too.
Upscale fish cuisine is found at D’Angiolina’s, a few meters further on. The Laboratorio of family Marino, who has specialized in the production of the Cilento’s probably best known slow food product, the "Alici di Menaica" (anchovies), is also found at the lungomare. When taking a walk along the seaside, do stop by at Donatella, Vittorio, Serena and Marco Marino’s place: during opening hours they offer degustation of their meanwhile quite large selection of local fish specialties.
