Acciaroli
Holiday homes

Acciaroli is one of the Cilento’s old fishing villages. With its houses’ characteristic quarry stone façades it is considered a gem among the coastal towns.

Well-tended sandy beaches and the picturesque harbor have had their share in increasing Acciaroli’s popularity with Italian holiday guests during the last few years.

The village became, however, widely known already in the last century as Ernest Hemingway spent several months there.

Holidays
with sea view at Acciaroli

While spending your holidays at one of the wonderful holiday homes at Acciaroli and taking a walk through the village, you might be retracing the steps taken there by the famous author Ernest Hemingway.

It was at Acciaroli that Ernest Hemingway is said to have experienced an encounter with his own ‘creation’.

Exhausted from working on his novel “The Old Man and the Sea”, he met ‘his’ old man in fisherman Antonio Masarone:

“Everything about him was old except his eyes, and they were the same color as the sea and were cheerful and undefeated.”

Almost every day, Antonio Masarone and Ernest Hemingway went fishing at sea together.

Historic center
The charm of times gone by

With its historic center and small alleys, Acciaroli today still spreads the austere charm of times long gone.

When sitting in one of the café-bars along the picturesque seaside promenade you simply feel at ease. The lovely church and the imposing Saracen tower at the harbor seem to jut out into the sea. And fishing still plays an important role.

Fantastic sandy beaches
The long, gently sloping beach is a treat for water bugs. Crystal clear water and fine sand make your time at the beach, bathing and swimming in the sea a real delight.
