C. Bürkle, holiday home Villa Niky (Scario, Cilento), October 2012
"The south of Italy is still very original with only few tourists, great landscape and dreamy little villages. In Scario we found a very comfortable house with a beautiful garden and a spectacular view over the Gulf of Policastro. This location is absolutely commendable! There are only few places in Europe more beautiful and more relaxed like this one."
Her Cilento-Tips:
"The market place of Maratea, the village Trecchina in the hills above Maratea where you can eat very delicious chest nut ice cream and chest nut pastry as well as the beach between Marina di Camerota and the Arco Naturale."
E. Groh, holiday home Villetta Annamaria (Cersuta, Maratea), October 2012
"In autumn you find only few tourists at the beaches, the bays and in the villages around Maratea. That's why our holidays were really relaxed. The ocean was spick and span and had a shiny azure colour. In general the whole coastline seemd clean and tidy. We were also very impressed by the mountains of the Cilento hinterland and the abundant, wonderful vegetal carpet of this region."
Their tips for a stay in and around Maratea:
"A walk to Monte S. Bagio is nature in their full glory! Pizzeria "La Bussola" in Fiumicello and fish restaurant "Da Cesare" in Cersuta. The best gelato artigianale you can find at bar Emilio in Porto di Maratea. You should also visit the ceramic art studio "Keramikos" in Maratea Borgo (near church Maria Annunziata). During the summer months the artist offers workshops for kids."
H. Buchheim, holiday apartment Casa Giovanna (Pisciotta, Cilento), October 2012
"We simply appreciated the landscape, the beaches of the national park and the breathtaking Cilento towns and villages. At Casa Giovanna and at the piazza of Pisciotta we really felt like home."
Their tip for all travellers to Cilento:
"The feast of saints on October 7th in Pisciotta, the fantastic beaches near Caprioli and the Italian language course we attended."

C. & K. Wegner, Hotel Calanca (Marina di Camerota, Cilento), October 2012
"Hiking with Salvatore - that's how we spent our holidays in Cilento. And we were really excited about it. Hiking along the coastline we discovered great places and experienced a fantastic landscape, the so-called "Macchia". Apart from Salvatore as our hiking guide we recommend to have a look at the local market of Marina di Camerota."
A. & M. Mayr, holiday apartment Residence Baia Infreschi (Marina di Camerota, Cilento), September/ October 2012
"Beautiful landscape, great seaside, colourful coast, amazing villages and friendly people - the Cilento region is really great! Everything is possible here: sunbathing, hiking, cycling (especially riding racing bicycle) and cultural life."
Mr. & Mrs. Mayr's special tip:
"Going by boat from Palinuro to the grotto and afterwards sunbathing at "Baia di Buondormire". Furthermore a walking-tour to the lighthouse of Capo Palinuro wherefrom you can enjoy a fantastic sundown. If you want to eat well you should visit restaurant "Brezza di Mare" in Marina di Camerota."

A. Hülsken, Hotel Calanca (Marina di Camerota, Cilento), September 2012
"On my walking-tour I discovered an admirable, unspoilt coast, few tourists and lovely people. Despite the missing knowledge of the Italian language I got to know some very friendly Italians on the beach admitting me to their group immediately. They even shared their picnic with me. That's bella Italia!"
H. Schnabel, holiday apartment Villa Alfonsina (Marina di Piscotta, Cilento), September 2012
H. Schnabel und P. Velan sent their impressions from the lovely fishing village Marina di Camerota.

U. Scheele, holiday apartment Casa Maria Rosaria (Pisciotta, Cilento), August 2012
"We spent very relaxing holidays in Cilento. We were especially taken with the small town Pisciotta whose location on a hill above the sea is simply gorgeous. Here we took part in the typical Italian village life.
To those who would like to visit Pisciotta we recommend the saints' days at the beginning of August with awesome processions. Furthermore everyone should visit the local markets as well as the numerous concerts in Cilento at this time of the year."
Last but not least a culinary tip: Osteria del Borgo.

G. Wolf, Holiday home Villa Cesira (Marina di Campagna, Cilento), August 2012
"It was really quiet there and Villa Cesira was situated in the middle of nature. The view from the terrace was fabulous as well as the olive trees around the house. Everything there was suitable for children. It was easy to reach Pisciotta by foot so that we never had problems finding parking space. Pisciotta is a lovely town that is still very original. The people there were kind and likable at any time. Specially at August you easily find very good and fresh food on the local markets for convenient prices so that we had not to cook at the evening very often. The beach of Pisciotta is also very suitable for little children because the sea is quite flat here."
D. van Looy, Holiday home Villa Tramonto (Marina di Pisciotta, Cilento), August 2012

"Any time we would visit the Calore valley again. The landscape especially north of Vallo della Lucania is breathtakingly beautyful. Those who like taking pictures, should take lot of time with them. Starting at Laurino it's a nice and easy walk into the valley and along the river. Beneath an old stone arch bridge we had a piquenique and afterwards we took the opportunity to take a swim (see picture). Let's go!"
J. Harbott, Ferienwohnung Villa Belvedere (Acciaroli, Cilento), Juni 2012.
M. Feltens, holiday home Casa Blu (Scario, Cilento), May/June 2012
"The house is great! The three terraces, the aesthetic furniture - much more nicer than on the photos on your internet site! The view on the gulf of Policastro is unbeatable. Worth seeing: die Bussento-valley, and the Cascado Capelli di Venere at Casaletto Spartano. There is a valley with several waterfalls. We met an italian school class with their teachers. They explained us a lot (in english and french), and later they invited us to their picnic (see picture)."
B. Buresch, holiday apartment Le Terme di Velia (Marina di Ascea, Cilento), June 2012
"About the photo: Each day we went by bike along a marvellous way to and from our bathing place. One evening we heard nice brasilian music at a small bar at the beach. We sat down close to it and had our daily Scrabble game while enjoying the sunset. After a while a boy of the bar came to us and offered us a glass of prosecco. This is an example for the discreet kindness of the cilento people that impressed us so much."
U. Ebermann, Residence Baia Infreschi (Marina di Camerota, Cilento), May/June 2012

Family Eberman liked their stay very much "especially the calmness, few tourists, sun, nice beaches, good food and friendly Italians"

B. Czakert, holiday home Villa Niky (Scario, Cilento), April 2012
Family enjoyed their stay at Villa Niky very much. Their insider-tip:" Just enjoy the silence, italian shopping and cooking! All people are very friendly and helpful and are happy when someone speaks their language. If possible take a flight as early as possible to be able to visit Paestum and/or Pompei on the way. Afterwards it's not very likely that you want to make the distance again."
