Here you find tips and experiences from our Cilento-travellers' feedback in 2007. Of course we would be glad to receive your comments and pictures as well!

"We have been to the Cilento the second time in a row now and are again very pleased. One of our Cilento recommendations: we reached the Buondormire beach with a pedal boat from the Marinella beach. The beach is sparsely populated in the afternoon (…) in September. A marvellous beach, which you then have almost to yourself.” Ehmer family, Isca delle Donne (Cilento), September 2007.

A pleasant surprise: the birthday breakfast arranged by the daughter for her parents. Mrs and Mr Kruse, Hotel Paistos (Cilento), September 2007.

At the pool of Villa Cosenza. Reasons to return to the Cilento: “the splendid sea – so clean and clear, still wonderfully warm at the end of September. Hiking trails, diverse landscape. The cleanness of Villa Cosenza.“ (Guests Kostenzer, Villa Cosenza, September 2007).

In the olive grove on the country estate Le Favate. “Having returned recently from our wonderful Cilento holiday – the third one for us –daily life has seized us again. It has once again been great and we will surely spend future holidays in the Cilento.” Klukkert family, Le Favate (Cilento), September 2007.

Midday break in Pompeii. „In the summer of this year we have spent our first holiday in the Cilento, a region in Italy, which until then had been completely unknown to us. We enjoyed a wonderful, revitalizing holiday in Marina di Pisciotta. (…) “Our” beach was superb. It was totally clean, we never lacked space. Even the car could always be parked nearby. Whenever we did not dine out, we bought fruit and vegetables from the mobile vendor in Marina di Pisciotta. Several bout trips along the coast fascinated us every time. We entered the different grottoes and were amazed by the rock formations and the play of colours in the caves. (…) After all we can say: we have truly enjoyed the time, have made many excursions to a totally diverse area, had nice relations to the locals in the village, have well and plentifully tasted the Italian cuisine and still are often in thoughts in the Cilento. We will surely return, as well.“ Guests Nemnich, Casa Franca (Cilento), August 2007.

The beach of "Cala D'Arconte" near Marina di Camerota, photo taken by family Petzoldt. They will treasure the meaning of their holiday apartment because of "its central location in town, its good condition and its friendly landlords". Family Petzoldt has several reasons for returning to the Cilento: "the area has not been overrun by tourists, the wonderful landscape, the fantastic beaches, the crystal clear water and the hinterland." Family Petzoldt, Villa Pomarico (Cilento), July 2007.

The guests Kühne were especially delighted by the „balcony with the wonderful view“. In the picture a “sunset at the Capo Vaticano with view of Stromboli“. Guests Kühne, Le Case di Concetta (Calabria), July 2007.

“We really enjoyed the two weeks in May under the Southern Italian sun. The house is simply wonderful, because you can relax, rest and recover on the spacious premises. The landlady is a charming woman. It was a wonderful feeling to be a welcome guest.”
Mrs and Mr Druhm, Casa dello Zio Alferio/Cilento, May 2007
“The holiday at Azienda Fasani was simply fantastic. For those who – like we – want to enjoy peace and quiet, it is the best possible place. (…) The holiday apartment was very clean, the furnishing simple, but good. (…) What impressed and pleased us most, however, was the way we were treated by the owners Bruno, Angela and their daughter Annalinda. We have never met with so much cordiality during our former holidays in Italy.”
Guests Nöll, Country estate Azienda Fasani/Cilento, May 2007
“The most beautiful thing about Pisciotta is that the town does not live on tourism (…) and that therefore you can, especially in the pre-season, experience a genuine relationship between locals and strangers. We very much enjoyed the life there (…), the accommodation Casa Chiara is very central, near the grocery shops, the ice cream parlour, the café-bar and the restaurants. (…) Without a car you can walk to the beach in Pisciotta and hike in the mountains directly from the town. (…) It was a relaxing, quiet holiday. The neighbours gave us oranges from their gardens as presents and our daughter played with the granddaughter of the landlady. And after a couple of days the people in the shops and café-bars know you. We promised to come back, but would rent a car in advance from Naples or Salerno, to get to know the hinterland better.”
Mrs. and Mr. Ptacek, holiday apartment Casa Chiara in Pisciotta (Cilento, Campania), Easter holidays 2007

“I only wanted to let you know: Villa Natalino was superb, the house one of the most beautiful that we have ever had. (…) Cisternino is a dream and just the perfect little town, not too big, not too small. The distance to the sea is not a problem at all and even the nearest beaches south of Torre Canne are some of the best (…). This area in any case is now my new favourite in Italy.”
Mr. Schmid after his Puglia holiday in the holiday home Villa Natalino, April 2007
Dr. Hagen stayed in the Cilento holiday home Casa Giulia at the beginning of April 2007 and says: “What more can you say after holiday no. 7? Mr. Perino [the owner of Casa Giulia] is perfect!”
Mr. Putz stayed in Puglia, at the Hotel Rizieri for one week in March 2007: He will positively remember the “friendly, helpful people”. About the hotel he says: “excellent hotel concerning rooms, tidiness, service and restaurant”. His Puglia recommendation: “Fish market in Gallipoli”.
“With Villa Natalino you have a gem in your selection. The house is excellent and generously offers space (…). All appliances are working. (…) The view from the ample courtyard down upon the Itria valley is gorgeous; courtyard and garden are in brilliant shape. But not only that: Signora Vincenza, the owner’s mother, who takes care of the house, is of such a pleasant, genuine cordiality, that you feel at home right away. True hospitality! The owner even (…) calling to ask whether one has arrived alright just completes the picture. In short: We felt very comfortable.”
Mr. Detjen, Villa Natalino in Puglia, March 2007
