Here you find tips and experiences from our Cilento-travellers' feedback in 2006. Of course we would be glad to receive your comments and pictures as well!

"My wife and I spent a week at Villa Virginia and we were very pleased with the accommodation. The apartment was large and very comfortable. One item which we loved is having the lime trees within our reach just outside the kitchen window. Although English is not spoken by the owners, it did not create any difficulties. The daughters of the owners were very helpful in any information we required... and they spoke some English. We were very fortunate to have selected Villa Virginia, it met all of our needs. The weather was beautiful, just right for us. If anyone is looking for a spacious apartment in that area, I would highly recommend it. The view from the porch was beautiful. "

“Casale Valentino has exceeded all our expectations. The location of the house with the marvellous view upon the sea and the furnishing of the holiday home were very good. (…) This has been our first Cilento holiday and we enjoyed it very much. The people are kind, the splendid beaches were scarcely frequented during our stay, the water very clean. We were surprised by the many fireworks taking place in the surrounding villages. From our terrace we watched the festivities in Lentiscosa. The town at night was illuminated by large glowing pictures. …All in all we have spent a very nice holiday there, the weather was sunny and with 29-30 degrees comfortably warm. We made many excursions into the charming hinterland and were almost daily on different beaches to swim and snorkel. Our children were especially impressed by the abandoned villages, the Greek temples in Paestum and the clear water to snorkel in. We will gladly return to the Cilento, the next time maybe in spring or once again in the post season in September.”

„We have just returned very recreated and relaxed from our holiday in Casa Marisa. Our three children made friends with the children of the proprietor very quickly and felt very comfortable there. All in all it was a wonderful holiday. To our surprise, Giuseppe speaks English very well, which created (when he was at home) a funny and amusing chatting atmosphere and we learned a lot about life in the Cilento and his family. We would be happy if you could pass our positive feedback on during one of your next contacts.“

„Dear Cilentano team, we are now almost one month back home again from the Cilento and I wanted to thank you very much for this marvellous week in Marina di Camerota. It exceeded all our expectations – the wonderfully spacious apartment in Villa Brunella, the countryside, the kind people, the turquoise sea, just everything. We knew already on the return flight – we will come back. Very helpful were also the recommendations in our catalogue and in Peter Amann’s travel guide. (…) A highlight in any case was our nightly stroll through Maratea. And a dinner at “Isca delle Donne” is like a visit to paradise. Thank you! We will surely recommend you to our friends.“

„Upon your mediation we spent two weeks in Pisciotta at the end of June. It was, in one word, wonderful! The small village is, especially in the off-season, very, very beautiful. It is old, cornered, familiar, vivid. Sometimes we felt taken back into an early Fellini movie: the policeman and his tall colleagues standing on the village piazza, but it seems as if their task was to only exist. They talk with each and everyone, but we did never see them handing out tickets or giving orders. You sit in the cafés on the piazza down the stairs and up the stairs on the other side again…after half an hour the altar boys come running back in swaying robes, swinging the cross and the Italian flag, while the priest, carrying his robe on his arm, blesses the attendees while passing by. It was during the world cup, and of course we watched a few matches on the piazza… We lived in Villa Cesira. Marvellous location, in the middle of the olive grove, absolutely quiet at night, during the day as well. …birds, crickets, geckoes, wasps, being eaten by geckoes, in the distance a few sheep with their shepherd, … usually we are long-distance travellers, … but this stay in the Cilento was marvellous for us. We returned recreated, and we did not miss anything. Your organisation was perfect, unpretentious, courteous and kind. We would like to thank you very much!”

Mr Kurtz stayed at Casa Balzano in Scario for 2 weeks in May 2006. “The most beautiful apartment did absolutely match the description, the welcome was cordially, we did not miss anything.” He especially enjoyed in the Cilento “the authenticity and kindness, the countryside, the food. The clean, crystal-clear water is a dream.“ His special recommendation: ”exploring the coast on your own with the rented motorboat from Marina di Camerota, buying olive oil in Pisciotta right on the street, swimming in secluded bays between Scario and MdC – this is pure holiday.”
