Here you find tips and experiences from our Cilento-travellers' feedback in 2004. Of course we would be glad to receive your comments and pictures as well!

"Our most beautiful excursion led us across the mountains to the Certosa di San Lorenzo in Padula. You cannot have more Cilento landscape, and the Certosa is stunning. (…) Everything worked just fine. Pasquale Cutri is a very kind and helpful person! (…) Seldom have felt as comfortable as here (…)."

"Special and unique is the laid-back, friendly atmosphere in the hotel, and responsible for it are the proprietors Roberto and Gabriella. Gabriella prepares with much love and care the most delicious dishes (…), for examples the best parmigiana in the world (I was given the recipe by Gabriella and have frequently cooked it to the delight of the entire family), and each day we were looking forward to wonderful, always new, surprising lunch and dinner menus. With it, Roberto serves the best wines of the area (which we have also found in high-class restaurants in Munich) at a very reasonable price. Roberto has anticipated our every wish. So he has served unforgettable banquets in the garden with torchlight and full-moon lighting, musically accompanied by the roar of the sea. In the Hotel Calypso one is cooked for and indulged just like being at a good friend’s place. It is surely a wonderful place to relax, and feast and be spoiled, also in late autumn, and additionally there is the density of cultural highlights (like the excavations of Paestum). We will return, as soon as possible for us (…)."

"Even if we have returned from the trip a while ago already, today I would finally like to assure you that your holiday offer (Marina di Camerota, Villa Zincalo) has exceeded our boldest expectations. We felt superbly comfortable and thank you for the really excellent selection. We will recommend both you and the Cilento (…)."

“Visit the hinterland! A wonderful day trip (e.g. on a Sunday):
1) The beautiful weekly market in Vallo della Lucania. It is mandatory to visit the fruit and vegetable hall and be amazed.
2) From the Vallo to Monte Sacro (1.700 m). Wonderful drive – great panorama. One thinks to be in the Alps. Goats and cow flocks with bells running around freely.
3) Gole del Calore / Gorge of Calore: fantastic landscape and a refreshing bath; wading in the crystal clear, cold water (essential taking swimming costumes with you). A recommendation: Try the restaurant at the WWF refuge -> wild boar from the grill -> delicious and cheap.”
A. Hinrichs, June/July 2004, Villa Cosenza
As for the Cilento: “A very beautiful spot; more hospitable than other Italian regions; clean sea.” Concerning the accommodation: “Just great – a structure lovingly designed and cared for.” A special holiday event for Mrs. Rolzhäuser was the “buffalo farm ‘Tenuta Vannulo’ with biological buffalo milk ice cream, yoghurt etc.”.
