Contemplative and authentic village
Marina di Pisciotta is a small, contemplative village with approximately 300 inhabitants, which comes to life only during the Italian holiday months of July and August.
There is no through traffic, because the street ends at the port. Typical bars, small shops and restaurants and fishermen, who will take you to the grottoes at Cape Palinuro or on a fishing tour, are awaiting you.
Right outside the town limits, you will find the beautiful beach of Marina di Pisciotta which has either more sandy or more pebbly sections depending on the current.
It is towards the evening that the atmosphere is simply charming: To one side of the beach lies the village, children play football in the village street, old women and men sit along the lungomare chatting about everything and anything. To the other side lies the hilly landscape of the Cilento with its green giants sloping gently towards the sea.
At Marina di Pisciotta, the centuries-old fishing tradition
"alici di menaica" is still kept alive.

The “pescatori” have preserved their fathers’ knowledge. Skill and experience are necessary to catch the anchovies using the traditional method. Vacationers have got the possibility to accompany the fishermen on their nightly tours.
