An originally Roman family has already discovered its love of the medieval Pisciotta centuries ago and has now fulfilled a lifelong dream: amidst the stairway alleys of the “centro storico” the owners have lovingly and elaborately restored an old Basilian monastery.
The breakfast hotel Marulivo is situated in a marvellous panoramic location and - as is promised by its name - between “mare” and “ulivo”, between the sea and the olive groves typical of the Cilento. Within only 1 km you reach the beach (partly sand, partly pebbles) of Marina di Pisciotta by a beautiful hiking trail.
Hotel Marulivo is a family-run lodging, the love for details and a special attention for the wishes of the guests are perceptible everywhere.
On the spacious sun terrace you are offered also a colour play of a special kind. Beneath you the deep-blue sea is stretching out, silver-green shimmering olive groves are found to your right and to your left the old palazzi of the “centro storico” glow in their warm terracotta colours. During breakfast or while having an aperitif, whether having a sun bath or while reading a book: here and in the terraced garden you may savour the literal “dolce vita” to the fullest.
The eleven individually designed guest rooms are spread across the three storeys of the house located on a slope. Each room has its own personal charm due to the handmade furniture. In a very appealing way the old natural stone walls have been integrated in the rooms. The terracotta floors and the “travi”, the wooden ceiling beams typical of the region, create a warm and at the same time Mediterranean atmosphere.
Common to all rooms is the comfortable interior with air conditioning/heating, satellite TV, telephone, mini bar, safe and hairdryer. Nine of the eleven rooms offer sea view. The room we have chosen for you has an additional French balcony. The bathrooms are equipped with shower/bidet/WC.
Upon request we will gladly reserve for you the Junior suites, which are more generously laid out and accommodate up to three guests.
Café bars, restaurants and the little stores of the village are reached on foot within a few metres.
Because the hotel is located in the middle of the “centro storico”, you cannot drive up to the house. But the owners offer a luggage service. Public parking is available all around the centre.
Pisciotta is perfect for all those who set value on being close to the sea during their holiday and at the same time want to discover the authentic looks of Southern Italy. Immerse in the intact village life of Pisciotta. Each Wednesday is market day. Farmwives from the hinterland offer fruit and vegetables, people from the surrounding villages stroll past the booths with household supplies and of course a chat about the world and his wive.

Prices are valid per person and day in a Superior room (Superior) or a Junior suite (J. suite) with bed & breakfast (B&B).

Single occupancy of a double room: discount of 25% on the price of the double room (except from 08.08. - 26.08.2013)
Excursions, mountainbike rental, beach shuttle: available for a fee.
