- Unique location: The hotel Illicini is an elegant bed and breakfast hotel in a beach park.
Illicini is a coastal area near Maratea with an amazing cape, where oak and olive trees and various species of heathers grow. Hidden in this abundant vegetation in a private beach park measuring two hectares lies the small, elegant bed and breakfast hotel Illicini.
The eleven guest rooms of the hotel are distributed among the main building and three double bungalows. All buildings are located only a few metres from the sea.
On the ground floor of the main structure there are three double bedrooms with terrace, on the first floor there is a larger double bedroom (spare bed) with roof terrace, connected to a single bedroom (also with terrace with sea view). Thus, it is suited especially for families.
In each of the bungalows there are two double rooms. In two of the three bungalows you have the possibility to join the two double rooms (connecting door). Thus you can use the rooms as a large unit for 4 people. Each room offers a spacious, partly roofed terrace. In the other bungalow there are two double rooms with a terrace. In the larger room a spare bed may be added.
Each of the tastefully and luxuriously furnished rooms is equipped with a bathroom (bath tub or shower, WC, bidet, hair dryer), telephone, TV, mini bar, safe, air condition and central heating.
In the breakfast room, which also serves as lounge, one has a feeling of sitting in the middle of nature, due to the large window facades. When the morning sun is reflecting on the sea, the day may begin.
In the little bar of the hotel you can let yourself prepare warm snacks for lunch.
On the park property with its 300 m of coastline there are many charming places where you may set up your sun bed: on one of the two small beaches or in the shade of one of the many oak trees with open view across the sea or of the coastal panorama.
The beach bays are - like almost all beaches in Basilicata - shingle beaches with splendidly clear water and single rocks. On the opposite of this rock-strewn part of the coast lie the two small islands of Matrella and Santojanni, which make for an attractive destination for a trip e.g. with a canoe. (Canoe rental in the beach park).
Not only refreshment, but a true swimming pleasure offers the 20x8 m swimming pool, as well.
