A lot of love and work has been put into the restoration of an old casolare in Montecorice by the owner, who is living in Switzerland. The result is astonishing: On a more than 1,300 sqm estate, Villa Marina represents the manor of an ancient farm complex with its neat stone façade. Mediterranean charm is provided by the splendidly blooming bougainvillea and roses, man-high cactuses, as well as olive and fig trees.

During the stay in your holiday home you will fully enjoy the life outdoors. In front of the house you may have your meals together on the ca. 200 qm terrace with view to the sea, relax on one of the sun beds or find a place in the shade and indulge in a good book. The sea-view balcony on the upper floor runs along the entire length of the house.

In your 140 sqm holiday home you live on two floors. The high ceilings create an airy ambience.

On the ground floor of Villa Marina there is a ca. 30 sqm living/dining room. Here you may dine with your family or friends and poke a fire in the fireside in the evening. From the living/dining room you have access to the terrace and the upper floor of your holiday home.

The kitchen is separated from the living room by a pretty stone arc. Apart from the well-equipped fitted kitchen made of solid wood with dishwasher and electrical coffeemaker there is an additional dining table with chairs.

From the kitchen you also have access to the terrace. Additionally, there is a bathroom with WC/bidet and a washing machine on the ground floor.

On the upper floor the four bedrooms with a double bed each are located. Three of the rooms have access to the balcony. One of the rooms with balcony access has its own en-suite bathroom with shower/bidet/WC.

In one of the bedrooms the double bed can be turned into twin beds. The fourth room offers space for a third person (single bed). This room also has a fireside.

Another bathroom with shower/bidet/WC is accessible from the hallway.

On the brick grill you prepare delicious holiday specialties. After a day on the beach the outdoor shower comes in especially handy. You may park your car on the property. The last 50 m of the access road are not suited for low-lying cars. Depending on the weather, the owner would be happy if you could water the plants around the terrace from time to time.

It is about 3 km to the nearest beach (pebbles, rocks) at San Nicola a Mare. Lovers of sandy beaches will visit the smaller beach near Agnone and the splendidly wide sandy beaches near Acciaroli.

A worthwhile hike along the coast with stretches on sea and through fragrant macchia leads to Punta Licosa, the siren cape. The cape and the offshore island owe their name to the siren called Leucosia, who according to legend sought her death here, after Ulysses – seemingly unimpressed by her song – let his men him row past her.

Whoever wants to explore the Cilento’s hinterland on foot may for example hike from Pioppi to Acciaroli. On traffic-free roads and field paths you enjoy marvellous views. The ascent of Monte Stella is also worth the effort. From the peak you can look far into Campania’s south. Get involved with the rural side of the Cilento: it is well worth it!
