A piece of ancient past is waiting for the guests of the two holiday apartments called Le Terme di Velia in Marina di Ascea.

The casolare, a former farmhouse originating from the 19th century, is situated in the middle of a venerable olive grove. Here, archaeologists have recovered the remains of ancient thermae, which lent their name to the Terme di Velia.

“History in the present” – according to this motto, the owners have also completely renovated their half of the house in 2006.

In the apartment “Il Mosaico”, chosen for you by us, you find a ”pezzetto di un antico mosaico”, which was found during the renovation work and skilfully integrated into the kitchen wall.

The living area is smartly separated from the kitchen-cum-dining room by a broken-through wall, steps and a nice round arc. Here you prepare with fresh fruit and vegetables from the market, sweet-smelling bread and a “vino delle casa” your holiday meals. Olive oil must not be missing in any case: just ask the owners, who run their own azienda agricola in Ceraso, for a bottle of this “liquid gold of the Cilento”.

Holiday in the south means holiday outdoors! There are innumerable possibilities to spend the days outside. A terrace with view upon the Tyrrhenian Sea and a pergola-terrace, from which the view drifts across the soothing green of the olive trees, make this holiday dream come true. The well-tended garden may be shared by all guests. From there you can see all the way to excavations of the ancient Greek town of Elea (today called Velia).
