Rich in history, surrounded by wonderful nature and fitted with unusual comfort: the ample estate of Le Favate, with the separate Casa Matteo upon a small incline, has got a unique atmosphere. The estate was built in the beginning of the 17th century on ancient salt trade route, now 3,000 years old.
After years of elaborate and careful renovation, today Le Favate shows itself in all its splendour.
Embedded in a lush green valley the estate covers a total of 5000 sqm - a vast space for more than 10,000 olive trees, vineyards and vegetable gardens, as well as for the livestock husbandry of cows, chicken, goats, turkeys and pigs. Le Favate is a paradise for children and adults, who wish to endulge in the authentic rural live of Southern Italy. The owners - who feel obliged to keep up old traditions - will gladly show you how they run their estate.
Upon the ruins of a “Casale“, an old farmer’s house, the owners have built Casa Matteo in the middle of an olive grove and have created four stylish and well-furnished holiday apartments.
Your holiday domicile is located on the upper floor. From the large, roofed terrace you have a wonderful view of across the softly rolling hilly landscape to the coast. The special hallmark of Casa Matteo are the noble-rustic ceilings with wooden beams, which are found in all rooms. Wood as working material also dominates the cosy kitchen-cum-living room. Here you may dine together with your friends and family, plan your next day while having a limoncello, watch TV (satellite dish with German and English channels) or just relax.
You will find two tastefully furnished bedrooms(double bed and two single beds, respectively) in your holiday apartment. The used materials of wood and metal provide for an appealing flair. Your new bathroom is equipped with shower/bidet/WC. Due to built-in central heating, the holiday apartment is also recommendable for a wintertime stay. In the outdoor area, a barbecue grill and an outdoor shower are at your disposal. You may park your car right next to your holiday domicile.
As guests of Casa Matteo you may use the country estate’s private swimming pool, about 200 m away. Upon request, the owners will provide you with umbrellas for your beach days for free. In the main building a washing machine is available for a small fee.
Enjoy the advantages of a holiday in the green: The olive groves have seen many centuries - a stroll through them down to the river La Fiumarella is really worthwile! Hikers will be impressed by the splendid panoramic view from the surrounding mountains.
Only a stone's throw away is to be found some of the culture of the Magna Graecia: The excavations of Velia – famous for its philosophers’ school from the 6th century BC – are worth a visit.

The sandy beach of Marina di Ascea is 7 km long and is only 5 km away if you take the partly cobble, partly tarred road, or 10 km, if you prefer a throughout tarred road.
The nearest grocery stores and cafè bars you find in the little villages of Terradura and Santa Barbara, both about 1 km away.

Prices per week are valid for the number of persons given in brackets and include bed linens, towels and final cleaning. A child’s cot will be provided upon request at no extra cost.
