Scario is one of the most beautiful places in the Cilento. Located at the Gulf of Policastro, the small town enchants you with its picturesque village centre and its nice beach promenade. Right in the heart of this idyll, lies gorgeous holiday apartment Casa Marinara at the lungomare, not far from the harbour and directly at the seaside.
On the balcony of the holiday apartment, you meet with a terrific 180°-view which stretches from Scario’s campanile across the mighty mountain ranges of Basilicata and Calabria and far out onto the wide open sea. This view makes the cornetti just fresh from the bar taste even better!
Bars, restaurants and small stores are only a few steps from the holiday apartment. While shopping or enjoying a delicious cappuccino, you experience the locals’ every day life at close range and you get to know a part of Italy which has remained authentic. If you want to take a swim, you need only step out of the door, the nearest beach is about 500 metres off.
Casa Marinara, in English „the sailors’ house“, is one of the oldest houses in town – as its name suggests, it used to be home to fishermen and their families. The stone façade of the palazzo with its nice round-arched windows is a beautiful sight. A staircase takes you to the private entrance of the holiday apartment which is located on the first floor of the house.
Upon entering the apartment, you will quickly notice that the palazzo’s outer appearance is not deceiving. Casa Marinara with its ca. 90 m² of living space was completely renovated in 2010 and the friendly owner has furnished it in a very tasteful manner and with a love for detail.
The holiday apartment’s high ceilings make for a special sense of space. The comfortable eat-in kitchen includes a full oven and a washing machine, the latter coming in handy for a lengthy stay.
Casa Marinara offers two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The double bedroom lets you onto the sea view balcony, from where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view right after getting up in the morning. This room offers sleeping accommodation for a possible fifth person on a sofa bed.
The light flooded living room is the heart of the holiday apartment. Adorned with maritime elements and beautiful wooden furniture, the room radiates a special kind of charm. The decorative bank of windows draws your gaze upon the deep blue waters of the Gulf of Policastro. Casa Marinara, furthermore, offers TV. The bathroom of the holiday apartment is equipped with shower, WC and bidet.

Lovers of nature are attracted by the unique maritime wildlife park of Infreschi between Scario and Marina di Camerota, hiking enthusiasts get their money’s worth when climbing Monte Bulgheria. You should not miss out on visiting the authentic, medieval mountain village of S. Giovanni a Piro either.
