Casa Viola - Holiday apartment at Marina di Pisciotta

Spacious holiday apartment with wide-ranging sea view in perfect location

Holiday in Southern Italy – this is associated with the sea and bathing fun, small picturesque fishing villages, the chirping of cicadas and sitting together on the terrace with view upon the sea on warm nights.

In Casa Viola in Marina di Pisciotta (Cilento, Southern Italy) you will be able to enjoy a variety of marvellous holiday moments.

Between the medieval mountain village of Pisciotta and the small fishing village of Marina di Pisciotta, Casa Viola combines the advantages of the Cilento – the vicinity of sea and mountains – in a perfect way. Your holiday apartment is located only 50 m from the footpath which connects the two hamlets.

You reach the beach and the village centre of Marina di Pisciotta within ca. 300 m.

Within a few minutes’ walk you find yourself in Pisciotta’s picturesque “centro storico” and dive into the still authentic Southern Italian village life.

In Casa Viola you live in the first floor of a semi-detached house with a total of 70 sqm living space.

Two balconies offer a wonderful view of the sea, two terraces are additional living space outdoors.

On the ca. 700 sqm terraced estate you will find your favourite spot to read a book in the shade of an olive tree, children will be thrilled to play hide-and-seek in the olive grove.

By a separate staircase you enter your holiday apartment built on a slope. Large window fronts in all rooms create a comfortable atmosphere.

Due to the veranda doors, which open towards the terrace with sea view, the living/dining room (with TV and a sofa bed for the fifth person) appears bright and airy. On a cooler day this is a place to feel comfortable.

The kitchen made of solid wood adjoins openly to the living/dining area, but is separated optically by a round arc. From the kitchen you enter the other terrace, from which you can also look upon the sea.

Casa Viola has two bathrooms. One bathroom is equipped with bath tub/bidet/WC. The bathroom that belongs to one the double rooms offers shower/bidet/WC.

The two double bedrooms have access to the terrace.

A washing machine is at your disposal.

You may park your car in front of the house.

In Marina di Pisciotta, which is reached within ca. 300 m on foot, you find bars restaurants and a grocery store. Whoever wants to take the car to go to the beach or to the village centre, drives about 1 km on the road.

The next station is Pisciotta-Palinuro.

Discover during the stay in your holiday apartment the Cilento from its authentic side:

In Marina di Pisciotta’s „pescheria“ the local fishermen sell their freshly caught prey in the evenings – recommendations for the preparation are included.

The weekly market in Pisciotta appears like a painting: everything you long for, from culinary specialties to small espresso machines, can be purchased here. Even farmwomen from the hinterland offer their self-produced fruit and vegetables. Mingle amongst the locals and after shopping is done allow yourself a break with a creamy cappuccino and delicious cornetto in one of the bars on the village square.

Our holiday in Marina di Pisciotta was just perfect. We really enjoyed the beautiful area which is still unspoiled… the olive groves, the beautiful coastline and the great beaches as well as the lovely people and the great food. The region is very authentic and quiet - even in August! We lived in a lovely apartment with seaview amidst an old olive grove. Our holiday home was spacious and quiet and there was enough shade on the terrace and balcony. The kitchen was well-equipped what we highly appreciated because we love to cook with all the beautiful products of this area. One evening the wild boars paid us a visit in the garden - one of the special moments! (They were friendly enough and kept their distance though.)
Marina and the beach are a ten minute walk downhill. Going back uphill can be a bit of a challenge. But with all that nice food a little exercise doesn’t hurt. The medieval village of Pisciotta is reached by climbing uphill for 20 minutes (or taking the car). It is a beautiful unspoiled town. Just have a coffee at the cafe on the stairs and watch Italian village life go by…It doesn’t get any better. Just don’t tell anyone. We just loved the place! Our tips for going out: the restaurant Angiolini in the Marina and Tre Gufi in Pisciotta itself. And what everyone should do is to rent a boat in the marina to go to Palinuro, drive to Camerota and walk to Spiaggia Cala Bianca (1 hour hike). Or just hang out at the beach of Bar Festa - they rent beds for the beach and serve excellent coffee. Really laid back vibe - hope it stays this way!
As it is a very hilly area, a lot of places are easier to reach by train than by car. The train is a lot quicker because of the tunnels, for instance to go to Maratea or Agropoli. This region is unspoiled and still very authentic, we enjoyed the beautiful nature, the lovely food and the very kind people… We will definitely come again!
